Frequently asked questions
- Does this upload my photo to a server?
- No. The crop runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image data never leaves your device, so the tool works offline once the page is loaded and there's no privacy risk.
- What's LinkedIn's exact banner size?
- 1584×396 pixels for personal profiles, 1128×191 for company pages (both ≈ 4:1). LinkedIn scales the banner to fit different viewport widths - cropping at native 4:1 ensures it looks edge-to-edge everywhere.
- Will my profile photo cover part of the banner?
- Yes. The circular profile picture sits in the lower-left of the banner, covering roughly 200×200 px on desktop. Keep critical text and faces in the upper-right two-thirds.
- Can I use the same image for personal and company pages?
- The aspect (4:1) is shared, so a single crop works for both. Pixel sizes differ (1584×396 vs 1128×191), but resizing preserves the aspect - upload the same crop, LinkedIn handles the rest.
- Will I lose quality after cropping?
- No. Cropping is a pure pixel-removal operation - the kept pixels stay byte-identical. JPG re-encoding can introduce minor compression, so we encode at high quality (≥0.92) by default.
