- Does this upload my photo to a server?
- No. The crop runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image data never leaves your device, so the tool works offline once the page is loaded and there's no privacy risk.
- What's Facebook's exact cover photo size?
- Desktop: 851×315 (≈ 2.7:1). Mobile crops to about 640×360 from the same image, taking a tighter centre slice. Cropping at 851×315 keeps the desktop frame edge-to-edge while preserving enough centre for mobile.
- Why does my Facebook cover look cropped on mobile?
- Facebook crops covers tighter on mobile, showing a 640×360-ish centre slice of the desktop banner. Keep important content (faces, text, logos) centred horizontally to survive both layouts.
- Will the profile photo overlap the cover?
- On desktop, the profile picture sits in the lower-left corner of the cover - covers about a 170×170 px area. Avoid putting critical visual elements there.
- Will I lose quality after cropping?
- No. Cropping is a pure pixel-removal operation - the kept pixels stay byte-identical. JPG re-encoding can introduce minor compression, so we encode at high quality (≥0.92) by default.
