Why use this online tool

Punchy without artificial

Saturation alone makes photos look cartoonish. Vivid combines moderate saturation boost with a touch of contrast - the result feels alive but still believable.

Adjustable intensity

Single slider tunes how strong the effect is. Drop to 0% for the original, push to 100% for full preset strength - find the sweet spot live.

100% browser-side

The filter runs on a Canvas in your browser. Your photo never leaves your device - no upload, no server, no privacy risk.

Free, no watermark

Unlimited filter applications, no signup, no overlay on the output.

When to use it

  • Travel photos with sunsets, beaches, autumn leaves - colour is the subject
  • Food photography where vibrant produce sells the dish
  • Real estate listings where vibrant grass and skies matter
  • Product photos with bright packaging that should pop
  • Sports and event photography where energy needs to read at a glance

Frequently asked questions

Does this upload my photo to a server?
No. The filter runs entirely in your browser using direct ImageData pixel manipulation. Your image never leaves your device.
Vivid vs drama - which one for 'pop'?
Vivid increases saturation - colours feel brighter / more cheerful. Drama increases contrast and crushes shadows - the photo feels moodier / more cinematic. Pick vivid for travel or food, drama for portraits or atmosphere.
Will vivid blow out skin tones?
At 100% intensity, sometimes - skin can read as too red or too orange. Drop to 50-70% for portraits, or apply only to landscape / product shots where skin isn't the subject.
How is this different from cranking saturation in Lightroom?
Vivid bundles a saturation boost with a small contrast bump in a single step. The contrast bump prevents the photo from looking 'flat-but-saturated' (a common over-saturation artefact). The slider tunes intensity, but you don't have to balance two separate controls.
Can I undo the filter?
Yes - the filter is applied to a copy of your photo. Drop the intensity slider to 0% to see the original, switch presets, or just don't download and the source is unchanged.
Can I combine this with other filters?
In this widget, one filter at a time. For chained effects (e.g. fade + vignette + grain), open the result in our editor where you can stack adjustments.
